Toledo Mud Hens 8, Buffalo Bisons 5 (box)
Bruce Rondon threw a 10-pitch eighth inning to retire the side in order, hitting 98 miles per hour on the stadium radar gun. The Mud Hens offense followed that up with an eight-run frame, handing the 24-year-old righthander his first win of the season. The Hens were unable to get anything together prior to that point, collecting just four hits in the first seven innings. They had four doubles alone in the eighth, with six different players driving in runs.
