The Mud Hens out-hit Indianapolis 13 to 7, but sloppy defense and a wild game from Matt Hall was enough to hand the Indians their fifth win in a row over Toledo to start the year. Hall coughed up an early 4-0 lead, allowing seven runs (five earned) in just four innings. The Hens committed three errors in all on the day. They were able to tie the score in the top of the ninth on an RBI groundout from Dawel Lugo, but another error from second baseman Harold Castro allowed the winning run to score in the bottom of the ninth.
