The Detroit Tigers announced a bevy of roster moves on Tuesday, some of which were apparent in their 3-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. The first, and most obvious, was that the Tigers placed righthander Spencer Turnbull on the bereavement list. Jeimer Candelario, who drew a walk late in Tuesday’s game, was recalled from Triple-A Toledo to replace Turnbull.
According to MLB rules, a player placed on the bereavement list must miss at least three games, but no more than seven. Turnbull was not scheduled to pitch again until Saturday, June 1 against the Atlanta Braves.
