Matt Hall was knocked around a bit on Thursday, but the story was Tides’ starter Keegan Akin. Akin punched out nine Hens, allowing just three hits and a walk. Hall went five, and for four innings he was matching Akin, but he melted down in a four-run fifth inning. The Tides bullpen was just as good, limiting the Hens to just one hit over the final three innings. Jose Fernandez and Sandy Baez matched them, combining for three perfect innings with three strikeouts, while Jose Cisnero allowed two runs in the ninth.
