Tigers' offense falls asleep against debuting rookie in 1-0 loss to Royals

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – It was but a short reprieve.

After the Detroit Tigers tagged 10 runs on Monday night, the thought was perhaps their long-anemic offense had finally awakened.

But a night later, they had apparently hit the snooze button, sleep-walking their way through another loss tonight at Kauffman Stadium. They totaled two hits and three baserunners against a left-hander named Eric Skoglund, who won his major league debut, 1-0.

“We feel good yesterday and we come in today and we don’t get the job done,” Miguel Cabrera said.
