Tigers observations: One bad inning hurts Turnbull in 4-3 loss

QUEENS, N.Y. — The Detroit Tigers got the hard part out of the way.

On Friday night, they snapped a nine-game losing streak in a win over the New York Mets.

The next two games weren't as friendly to them.

The Tigers dropped the series finale Sunday afternoon, losing a second consecutive one-run game, this time 4-3, at Citi Field.

Rookie right-hander Spencer Turnbull was done in by one bad inning — or, more specifically, one bad pitch — allowing four runs in the fourth inning. Dominic Smith led off the fourth with a double.
