Tigers' Miguel Cabrera leaves game after being hit by pitch on hand

TORONTO – Detroit Tigers star Miguel Cabrera left Saturday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays after being hit by a pitch in the top of the sixth inning.

Cabrera winced in pain after Aaron Sanchez’s pitch went high and inside and hit his right hand. Trainers attended to him at first base, before he headed to the dugout.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether Cabrera suffered an injury on the play.

Cabrera entered this season with hopes of returning to All-Star form after playing in just 38 games last season after rupturing his biceps tendon.
