Another year, another Silver Slugger for Miguel Cabrera. For J.D. Martinez, though, it's the first of his career. He's been putting up a lot of "firsts" in 2015, including winning the Fielding Bible Award and most recently, Tiger of the Year. This is the sixth-career award for the Detroit Tigers' first baseman, and on a down year where he missed six weeks of heavy playing time that is downright impressive.
To top it off, Cabrera still managed to take home the batting title for the American League and his .338 batting average was the highest in the majors.
