BOCA RATON, Fla. – They didn’t make a move, but they’re on the move.
It was a quiet four days for the Detroit Tigers at the general managers meetings this week — like it was for the vast majority of Major League Baseball — but the team made some noise on the free-agent front, with a number of names coming to the forefront of their interest.
And to no surprise, many names were relief pitchers.
The Tigers need two starting pitchers, first and foremost, but the market of the top available arms has yet to take form, and as the meetings at the Boca Raton Resort & Club wound down Thursday afternoon, one name has gained the most steam.
