Tigers' Matthew Boyd has no-hitter through 6 innings

DETROIT -- Detroit Tigers pitcher Matthew Boyd has not allowed a hit through six innings on Sunday afternoon at Comerica Park.

He's faced only one batter over the minimum, walking catcher Rob Brantly in the third inning.

Boyd benefited from a great defensive play by shortstop Dixon Machado in the second inning but has otherwise had few close calls.

The Tigers lead the White Sox 7-0. Follow live stats here.

Justin Verlander threw the Tigers' last no-hitter on May 7, 2011, at Toronto. He also has the last no-hitter at Comerica Park, which came on June 12, 2007, against the Milwaukee Brewers.
