DETROIT -- Friday night's game between the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners has been postponed due to rain.
The teams will play a traditional doubleheader beginning at 4:10 p.m. on Saturday at Comerica Park.
This is the eighth time a Tigers game has been postponed due to weather in 2018 (including rescheduled games that were rained out).
Teams are generally limited to a maximum of three day-night doubleheaders per season. The Tigers have already played two and have a third scheduled on June 4 against the Yankees, so a traditional doubleheader was the only option.
Game 2 will begin about 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1.
