SEATTLE -- John Hicks will make his first start since being recalled to replace Victor Martinez.
Hicks is the designated hitter for the Detroit Tigers Tuesday night at Safeco Field against the Seattle Mariners.
Mikie Mahook will also start with left-hander Ariel Miranda on the mound for the Mariners.
