As we detailed Monday, Detroit Tigers general manager Al Avila reportedly has about 50 names on his list in the search for the next Tigers skipper. Brad Ausmus’s time in the position has come to an end, and Detroit has jumped into the managerial search pool feet-first. The latest name to surface is current Los Angeles Angels bench coach Dave Ebel, per Jon Morosi of MLB.com.
Ebel is 51 years old, has family in Bay City, Michigan, and has been in professional baseball for nearly 30 years. He coached and managed in the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league system for 17 years before moving to the Angels system in 2005.
