Arlington, Texas — They might have known something bad was brewing Friday at Globe Life Park.
The Tigers’ evening began when Jose Iglesias, who had been written into the starting lineup at shortstop, somehow ended up an hour later on the disabled list.
This was before a two-hour, 42-minute rain delay ensured Friday’s first pitch wasn’t thrown until 10:47 p.m., Detroit time, which isn’t helpful to any team let alone one that arrived at Texas with a four-game losing streak.
And then the deeper trouble. Anibal Sanchez’s revival as a Tigers starter ceased when he couldn’t make it past a Rangers lineup that can bludgeon pitchers on nights they’re in sync, which Sanchez wasn’t Friday.
