Tigers' June swoon reaches 11 games as Blue Jays win on walk-off homer

TORONTO -- Justin Smoak hit the second pitch of the ninth inning 409 feet to right field to give the Toronto Blue Jays a 4-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers Saturday afternoon at Rogers Centre.

The walk-off home run against Tigers reliever Joe Jimenez was an especially cruel addition to what is now an 11-game losing streak.

The Tigers (36-48) haven't won a game since June 17.

Maybe July will offer better luck.

The Tigers took the first lead for the fifth time in the last six games when John Hicks hit a solo homer in the second.
