Chicago — Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias did something very few baseball players ever do — he voluntarily left the top sports agency in professional sports.
Iglesias dropped the Scott Boras Corporation and signed with Magnus Sports and Media, the agency founded and owned by entertainer Marc Anthony.
“This move isn’t because something was going the wrong way at all,” Iglesias said. “It’s just because I feel I am in a better place. My communication with Marc and the guys is incredible.”
Anthony, based in Miami, attended two Tigers’ spring games — one in West Palm Beach and the next day in Jupiter.
