Wayne State police officers lined the room, many in full uniform.
A group of Detroit Tigers – who were representing the front office, the coaching staff and the players -- sat on chairs, up on a stage.
And in the corner, there was a giant poster of Wayne State police officer Collin Rose, who was shot and killed in November – 56 days ago.
The Tigers honored Rose and his family Friday afternoon in a solemn, emotional ceremony at Wayne State, an unusual stop during the team’s annual winter caravan that was both powerful and heart-breaking.
