SAN DIEGO -- The music thumped in the Detroit Tigers clubhouse for the first time in 10 days, but not everyone was in a celebratory mood.
Yes, the Tigers had finally snapped an eight-game losing streak with a victory over the San Diego Padres, but one win couldn't erase an ugly road trip, an awful month and a disappointing 2017 season.
Miguel Cabrera was subdued as he sat near his locker in the corner of the clubhouse.
"It's only one game," he said.
He all but scoffed when asked if the Tigers could exhale with the pressure of the losing streak removed.
