CLEVELAND – Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus called it an “ugly win.”
The Tigers beat the Indians, 7-6, but only after the bullpen allowed six runs over the final two innings.
Ausmus wasn’t happy that he had to turn to setup man Justin Wilson in the eighth and closer Francisco Rodriguez in the ninth, considering the Tigers had a 6-0 lead entering the eighth inning and a 7-1 lead to start the bottom of the ninth.
“We got out of there with a win,” Ausmus said. “I guess that’s the way you look at it.
