CHICAGO – It was here in late May when Buck Farmer delivered the first of two solid starts for a Tigers team that was treading water in the American League Central Division race.

Back then, Farmer’s starts hoped to serve as a shot in the arm of sorts. They did not. Now firmly out of the race – one of only a few AL teams in that position – Farmer was back on the mound at Guaranteed Rate Field on Saturday night and delivered another win.

Farmer fell one out short of a quality start, allowing three runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings.
