The injury news isn't good for the Tigers.

The team announced Tuesday that pitcher Matthew Boyd is going on the 60-day injured list because of a left-elbow sprain. He'll need Tommy John surgery, which will end his season.

Will Vest also is heading to the 15-day injured list because of a right lower-leg strain.

In corresponding moves, the Tigers recall left-handed pitcher Anthony Misiewicz from Triple-A Toledo and reinstated pitcher Matt Manning from the 15-day injured list. Manning was listed as the starting pitcher for Tuesday's matchup against the Texas Rangers.
