Tigers fizzle on mound and at bat, fall to Twins

Detroit — If you follow the Tigers and missed this one, good call.

In one of their more pallid defeats from 2018, the Tigers got four hits Wednesday and not until the ninth inning came close to a heartbeat in an 8-2 loss to the Twins at Comerica Park.

The Twins won all three games in the three-game set. And they won this one early against rookie starter Spencer Turnbull.

Minnesota stuck him for four runs in the second, and that was good enough on a day when the Tigers' greater achievement might have been selling 19,296 tickets.
