Tigers dodge rain, blast 4 home runs to beat White Sox, 10-2

CHICAGO -- The Detroit Tigers hit four runs, dodged heavy rains and got a solid start from Jordan Zimmermann to beat the Chicago White 10-2 in the series finale Wednesday night at Guaranteed Rate Field.

The Tigers knocked out White Sox starter Michael Kopech, one of the league's top prospects, with three home runs, two doubles and two singles in a six-run fourth inning.

The Tigers' seven hits in the fourth inning were a season high.

Tigers Jordan Zimmermann pitched five scoreless innings despite being interrupted twice by rain.

Heavy rains before the game disrupted batting practice, but the skies cleared to allow the game to start on time.
