MINNEAPOLIS — A little over a week later, the Zach McAllister era with the Detroit Tigers could be over with.
Because of recent injuries to the starting rotation — Blaine Hardy and Artie Lewicki hit the disabled list over the past week — McAllister was a 40-man roster casualty following Saturday night’s win over the Twins.
The early returns didn’t help, either: McAllister allowed eight runs on 10 hits in 3u2153 innings, much of those hits on hard contact.
“We saw what we were looking for in the velocity," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "But he got banged around a little bit.
