Detroit — The Tigers have said goodbye to Kyle Lobstein.
The left-handed starter was traded to the Pirates on Monday afternoon. The Tigers will receive cash considerations.
Last week, the Tigers took Lobstein off the 40-man roster to make room for utilityman Mike Aviles, who signed a one-year, $2 million contract.
Lobstein pitched in 20 games for the Tigers over the last two seasons, 17 as a starter. He was 4-10 with a 5.33 ERA.
He showed some promise as a rookie in 2014, posting a 1.246 WHIP.
