KANSAS CITY – Alex Wilson, who has been the Detroit Tigers' most reliable right-handed reliever this season, had two saves before he was rested the past few days due to shoulder fatigue.
Right-hander Bruce Rondon has earned two saves in Wilson’s absence, including Wednesday in a 7-4 win against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium.
Wilson was warming up along with Rondon late in the game.
“The shoulder certainly played an issue,” Ausmus said on why he used Rondon instead of Wilson against the Royals. “With an off day (Thursday), I was hoping to maybe not use Wilson.
