Tigers clobbered by long ball in 11th loss in 12 games

Baltimore – The misery, the absolute abject misery, continues.

After 17 scoreless innings, Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to stake the Tigers and Anibal Sanchez to a 2-0 lead Saturday night.

Sanchez, who had pitched five scoreless, two-hit innings, gave it right back, plus one, in the bottom of the sixth and the Orioles went on to pound the Tigers 9-3.

That’s 11 losses in 12 games for the Tigers, three straight here in Baltimore.

Sanchez gave up a one-out double to Adam Jones in the sixth and then got Chris Davis to fly out to right.
