Tigers can't support Michael Fulmer, get blanked, 3-0

SEATTLE – The Detroit Tigers couldn’t muster much off right-handed pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma.

The Tigers had five hits – all singles – and one walk over seven innings against Iwakuma, who struck out eight.

The Tigers went on to lose, 3-0, to the Mariners on Monday night at Safeco Field.

Rookie right-hander Michael Fulmer struck out six batters over seven innings, his highest strikeout total since he fanned 10 on July 1.

Mark Lowe, who hadn’t been used in a high-leverage situation in months, entered in the eighth, trailing 2-0.
