LAKELAND, Fla. -- Detroit Tigers pitchers and catchers formally report to the team's Tiger Town complex Tuesday morning, marking the official start of spring training.
Thirty-one pitchers and seven catchers -- more than 60 percent of the overall Major League camp roster -- are expected to be here.
Most have already been participating in unofficial workouts for at least several days.
Others -- like Michael Fulmer and Joe Jimenez -- have spent much of the winter in Lakeland.
The only players not spotted during recent workouts were pitcher Warwick Saupold and catcher James McCann.
Saupold had to make a lengthy flight (and multiple connections) to get here from Perth, Australia.
