Tigers call up longtime Minor Leaguer Molleken

Dustin Molleken is finally getting the call to the big leagues. The Tigers selected the contract of the right-hander from Triple-A Toledo and designated third baseman Casey McGehee for assignment on Monday. Detroit also transferred right-handed pitcher Drew VerHagen from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list in a corresponding move.

Molleken, who was drafted in the 15th round by the Pirates in 2003, has pitched for 11 different Minor League teams over 13 seasons. The 31-year-old will make his Major League debut when he takes the mound for the Tigers. He is 1-3 with a 3.
