Buck Farmer can't lie: Making the Detroit Tigers' Opening Day roster wasn’t completely out of his thoughts.

Late in spring training, as the open roster spots began to dwindle, the right-hander was in no man's land — he was out of options, so the Tigers couldn't easily ship him to the minors again, but his 2018 performance in the Tigers' bullpen hadn't exactly earned him a big-league job.

“I’d be lying to you if I said it wasn’t nerve-racking, too,” he said.
