Tigers' Buck Farmer leaves game with spasms, will be reevaluated Tuesday

CLEVELAND -- Detroit Tigers reliever Buck Farmer left Monday night's game with spasms in his hip and buttocks.

Farmer said he experienced tightness in his glute, or gluteus muscles. Manager Ron Gardenhire was more direct: "His butt tightened up. That's exactly what happened. It spasmed on him."

In any case, Farmer's status is day-to-day and he will be reevaluated on Tuesday.

The injury wasn't expected to be serious.

Farmer felt the spasm on the first pitch of his outing in the seventh inning. Manager Ron Gardenhire and head athletic trainer Doug Teter made two mound visits before he was removed from the game.
