The Detroit Tigers are bringing back veteran left-hander Blaine Hardy and placing Miguel Cabrera on the disabled list, part of a flurry of moves over the last 24 hours.
The Tigers also recalled catcher Grayson Greiner, who will back up James McCann while John Hicks shifts to first base in Cabrera's absence.
Cabrera injured his right hamstring in Thursday's game at Kansas City.
Hardy will take the spot of left-hander Chad Bell in the bullpen. Bell was optioned to Triple-A Toledo after Thursday's game.
Hardy, who was injured for part of the spring and then designated for assignment at the end of camp, has been brilliant for the Mud Hens.
