DETROIT -- JaCoby Jones smashed a lead-off triple in the 12th inning and then scored on John Hicks' surprise bunt as the Detroit Tigers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 in extra innings.
The Tigers (13-16) took two of three from the Rays (13-16) this week. All three games were decided by one run.
James McCann tied the game in the seventh inning with a 414-foot shot to left field. The solo home run came just moments after JaCoby Jones was thrown out trying to tag up from first base on a fly ball to medium-depth center field.
