Tigers Beat Lowly Twins While Verlander Reaches 2000 Career K’s

Things seem to be getting slightly back to normal after an interesting last few weeks for the Detroit Tigers. This afternoon they took on the Minnesota Twins at Comerica Park and topped the Twins 6-3. They have now won four games in a row after dropping 11 of their last 12 before the current stretch.

Justin Verlander was excellent once again Wednesday, this time getting the win while recording his 2000th career strikeout in front of the home crowd. He finished the day with 10 total strikeouts over 7 1/3 innings. He and Mickey Lolich are the only two Tigers to ever reach the 2000 K milestone and the 76th in Major League Baseball History.
