LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – The Grapefruit League schedule ended earlier than anticipated for the Tigers on Saturday. Their game against the Braves at Champion Field was called around 11:30 a.m due to rain.
The Tigers finished 18-11-1 this spring.
“I thought it was a good spring, quite frankly,” Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said. “I thought the camp went smoothly. I thought the guys played well. We accomplished what we felt like we needed to accomplish to prepare for the season.
“Even the guys who have had bouts of illness or injury, like Victor (Martinez), Nick (Castellanos) or (James) McCann, they got enough at-bats.
