Seattle — Alex Wilson is amused by all the attention being paid to Michael Phelps and other U.S. Olympic athletes for using a healing technique known as cupping. You’ve probably noticed the purple circles on Phelps and other athletes.
Well, if you walked around the Tigers’ clubhouse the last two years, you’d see plenty of those purple circles on Wilson, other pitchers and even catcher James McCann.
“It’s funny to watch a lot of people make a big deal out of it,” Wilson said. “We’ve been doing it for a while. I’ve done it pretty religiously the last two years.
