SEATTLE -- The Detroit Tigers have agreed to contracts with 17 of their 40 draft picks, the team announced on Tuesday.
Their first-round pick, right-handed pitcher Alex Faedo, is still playing in the College World Series with the Florida Gators, which will delay his negotiation and signing.
Among the top 10 picks, only Faedo and high school catcher Sam McMillan remain unsigned. McMillan, a native of Live Oak, Fla., has verbally committed to play for the Gators although he is expected to sign.
The Tigers didn't not release terms of the deals, although in some cases they have been reported elsewhere.
