NASHVILLE, Tenn. – On the first day of the winter meetings, the Tigers found a set-up man. On the second day, they have found a left-handed reliever.
The team has acquired lefty Justin Wilson from the Yankees, in exchange for pitching prospects Luis Cessa and Chad Green, they announced this evening. The deal was first reported by Fox 2 Detroit's Jennifer Hammond.
The talks between the teams gained steam earlier in the day at the winter meetings, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.
Wilson, 28, posted a 3.10 ERA in 74 games for the Yankees last season.
