The Detroit Tigers made just two additions to their 40-man roster on Tuesday. Both catcher Dillon Dingler and RHP Wilmer Flores were added today to protect them from the Rule 5 draft in December. A pair of right-handed relievers were designated for assignment. The Tigers also made a small signing, inking outfielder Bligh Madris to a minor league deal.
Dingler and Flores were obvious choices, so no surprises there. Flores is arguably the Tigers second best pitching prospect behind Jackson Jobe, while Dingler is their only real catching prospect in the upper minors and reached the Triple-A level in 2023.
