Kansas City, Mo. – Kyle Lobstein has worked his way back into the Tigers rotation.
He started the season as the team’s sixth starting pitcher and found his way onto the 25-man roster when Justin Verlander went on the DL.
Lobstein went 3-5 with a 4.34 ERA in April and May, but it was clear something wasn’t right. Although tests revealed no structural damage, he spent most of the next four months on the disabled list with a left shoulder injury.
He wasn’t cleared to begin throwing until August. He made two rehab starts and Single A Lakeland and four at Triple-A Toledo.
