DETROIT -- One constant in an otherwise frustrating season for the Detroit Tigers has been their ability to beat the Chicago White Sox.
At least until this weekend.
The White Sox beat the Tigers 6-5 on Wednesday afternoon at Comerica Park to win the three-game series. The Tigers (50-71) had won eighth of nine from the White Sox (44-76) entering this week.
Tigers starter Jordan Zimmermann allowed six runs on nine hits, including a couple of home runs.
Drew VerHagen, Louis Coleman and the newly arrived Zac Reininger combined to pitch four scoreless innings of relief.
