Today, the Detroit Tigers struggled immensely on the mound and defensively, allowing seven runs to their divisional rival White Sox. Of course, this team never ceases to entertain, so they scored nine runs of their own despite entering the day with the worst team slugging percentage in all of baseball. Tigers win, 9-7.
Surprisingly, this game was not very exciting for the first five innings, so let’s start there. Tyson Ross got the first eight batters out before allowing a single to Ryan Cordell in the third inning, but didn’t get into any legitimate trouble until the fifth inning, when he allowed one run after back-to-back-to-back singles from Tim Anderson, Wellington Castillo, and Yolmer Sanchez.
