DETROIT — Daniel Norris didn’t have a dominant start, but he did enough while the offense went to town on Trevor Bauer. The Tigers won 7-1 behind a three-run home from Tyler Collins and a solid bullpen outing from Alex Wilson and Anibal Sanchez.
For all the consistency issues that Norris was dealing with on Monday, he masked them long enough to get through six innings with only one run allowed. It was far from clean, though. He worked around a two-on, two-out jam in the first, and then gave up a run in the third. Only the second and fifth innings were clean, as he worked around a two-on fourth-inning issue and just escaped trouble in the sixth when he gave up a one-out ground-rule double.
