Tigers 5, Blue Jays 2: Early offense lifts Blaine Hardy to second win

The Detroit Tigers scored four runs in the second inning to build an early lead for lefthander Blaine Hardy, who worked around four walks to earn his second straight win. Nicholas Castellanos added a late home run to boost the Tigers to a 5-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night.

The Tigers chased Jays starter Jaime Garcia early. Victor Martinez and James McCann singled to lead off the second inning, and scored on a JaCoby Jones triple into the right-center field gap.
