Tigers 4, Orioles 2: Good pitching, late homers win the series

For the first time since April 23, the Detroit Tigers have won two games in a row.

Pitching was key, as a second straight passable performance by the highly-scrutinized Ryan Carpenter paved the way for the surprising Nick Ramirez to lock Baltimore down for three perfect innings. Shane Greene caged the O’s in the final frame to get Detroit their first series win since May 3-5 when they took two of three from the Royals.

Carpenter started the game off by doing Ryan Carpenter things, hitting Trey Mancini in the foot with an off-speed pitch in the first inning.
