ERIE, Pa. -- For Dawel Lugo, a routine workout turned into a high-stress evaluation on Wednesday afternoon.
As he fielded ground balls at second base before batting practice, it seemed like he was being watched by half the Tigers organization -- from front office staff to visiting instructors. Tigers legend Alan Trammell, now a special assistant to the general manager, was among those in town to give him personal instruction at his new position.
So when the game came around on Wednesday night, everyone held their breath when a routine ground ball was hit to Lugo in the first inning.
