Tigers 2B Kinsler could join Whitaker with back-to-back Gold Gloves

For a fourth consecutive season, Detroit Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler has been named an American League Gold Glove Award finalist at second base. He won his first AL Gold Glove last season.

With a second consecutive win, Kinsler would be the first Tiger to win back-to-back Gold Gloves since catcher Pudge Rodriguez in 2005-06 and the first Tiger second baseman to win back-to-back Gold Gloves since Lou Whitaker in 1984-85.

He is the team’s only finalist, though leftfielder Justin Upton – who was traded to the Angels on Aug. 31 – is also up for the award.
