Fifty years ago today, Detroit Tigers fans were preparing to gather around radios and television sets for the dramatic conclusion of an incredible series.
On Oct. 10, 1968, the Tigers faced the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 7 of the World Series. The Tigers trailed the series 3-1, but fought back to tie it up, forcing a decisive final game at Busch Memorial Stadium in St. Louis.
