Tigers 11, Orioles 7: Torkelson homers twice as Tigers romp

The Detroit Tigers welcomed in the Baltimore Orioles for a Friday night televised matchup, and it was a really fun game. Casey Mize looked outstanding, the Tigers mashed four homers, including two from Spencer Torkelson, and we got to see several of the Tigers top prospects over in major league camp for the first time.

Keider Montero got the start, and he wasn’t sharp early on in this one. He fell behind a lot of hitters in the first inning, which is uncharacteristic for him, and it bit him pretty hard. With two outs and a run already in after a pair of singles opened the inning, Montero initially struck out Dylan Carlson, but a challenge overturned the strike call, and he walked him on the next pitch.
